From Risk to Opportunity
Equity Initiative, Inc. is dedicated to preparing young people for the real world and changing the course of their lives. Five ways we do this are: offering workshop on Life Skills Development, encouraging Social Emotional learning, providing Entrepreneurial Exposure, arranging Media Arts engagement, and supplying free tutoring during after-school hours. We do all of this at our exclusive location, The Activity Lounge, which provide teenagers with a safe space that supports healthy growth and development.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide young people in marginalized communities with positive life skills, resources, and guidance in order to ensure the success of future generations in underserved communities.
WHY IT MATTERS
Marginalized youth encounter numerous barriers in their transition through life, some of which negatively impact their academic or social progress. This impact impedes their becoming a fully functioning and contributing adult member of society.
A young person facing one or more "at-risk" factors will have a more challenging time growing academically, maturing socially, and contributing to the community and workforce.
The adolescent age is a critical stage of life in which inequities can be magnified or reduced. In all instances, young people need varying support to cope with their life changes.
There are numerous factors that impact young people's ability to transition into successful adulthood.

THE ACTIVITY LOUNGE
A fun after-school space for young people to learn skills and practice them in a real-life setting. The Activity Lounge is equipped with a game room, media room, meditation room, culinary space, multipurpose area, computer station, and so much more! Our Activity Lounge provides teenagers with a safe space that supports healthy growth and development.
